Not required. The IEO has no formal prerequisites. Our program is designed to teach core economic theory from the ground up, provided you have strong math aptitude.

The IEO requires algebra, probability, and statistics. Increasingly, calculus is used for economic modeling and optimization.

Not at all. The analytical and quantitative reasoning skills developed here are highly valuable for any student pursuing STEM, business, finance, or public policy.

It’s a team-based component. The Business Case is designed to test collaboration, communication, and presentation skills in addition to analysis

The Olympiad includes three parts: the economics exam, financial literacy, and the business case. Each is weighted separately according to official IEO guidelines
